Jeffrey-KrasnowName: Jeffrey Krasnow

Hometown: Vero Beach, FL

Years at Camp Pinnacle: First! I attended Adventure Treks for three summers.

Why did you decide to work at Camp Pinnacle? It offers me the best experience possible this summer. To give back to an amazing group of kids and to spend the summer outside with them is too exciting to pass up.

What is your favorite traveling experience? Last summer, as a graduation gift, my parents took my sister and me on a month-long trip throughout some of the most beautiful spots in Europe. We spent nearly every day hiking, mountain biking, and even went summer skiing!

What do you do when you’re not working at camp? I attend The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania where I am studying business and economics. During my breaks, I love snowboarding, hiking, and boating/beaching with friends when I’m back home in sunny Vero Beach!

What are you most proud of? In 2007, I co- founded a non-profit with my sister called Balls-Go-Round. We find alternative uses for dead tennis balls and recycle them back into the community. We even received the EPA Presidential Award and the US Green Building Council Award.

Tell us a cool fact about yourself. I am an expert drummer on the video game Rock Band.

What are you most excited about for the summer? I am most excited about spreading my love and enthusiasm for the outdoors to a group of campers who I hope will look up to me and view me as a role model.

Mara-HoplamazianName: Mara Hoplamazian

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Where do you go to college? I will begin attending Yale University in the fall of 2016 after spending a gap year traveling.

Years at Camp Pinnacle: First. I attended Adventure Treks for five summers and LOVED it!

What do you like to do when you’re not working at camp? I love to play water polo, swim, knit, and read. I’m also learning how to play the ukulele. This past year, I’ve been traveling with a program called Thinking Beyond Borders, living with host families in Ecuador, Thailand, India, and South Africa.

What’s been your favorite adventure? My favorite traveling experience so far was living with organic rice farmers in a rural village in northern Thailand, learning how to grow rice while attempting to learn to speak Thai with my host family.

What is your favorite camp song? Wagon Wheel!

Tell us a cool fact about yourself: I LOVE breakfast food. If it were up to me, I would eat breakfast for every meal.

Where would you like to go on your next adventure? I want to bike across the US from coast to coast and visit every Ben & Jerry’s on my route.

Why did you decide to work at Camp Pinnacle? My little brother has been a camper for the past three years and each time he comes home after a session at camp, he radiates happiness and confidence. His stories are hilarious and speak to the strong community and culture of fun at Pinnacle. I want to be a part of it!

What are you most excited about for the summer? I’m most excited to meet all of the campers and stand-up paddle board with them, hang out by the waterfront, continue to develop my leadership skills, and make new friends. I hope to be as good a role model for my campers as my Adventure Treks instructors were for me!

Summer is getting close. Get ready to meet Jeffrey, Mara, and ALL of our incredible Camp Pinnacle counselors!
