Junior Camp Day 2: June 8, 2026

Another beautiful day at Camp Pinnacle!

Day two of Junior Camp kicked off with boundless energy. A 7:30 wake-up gave everyone time to get settled before a breakfast spread of waffles, hash browns, eggs, and fresh fruit to fuel the day ahead.

Cabins made their way down to Lakeside for morning roll calls, and the creativity was through the roof. Rick the Stick and Fig the Twig had a tough time choosing, but Shining Rock took the crown today!

From there, campers headed into their morning activity periods: climbing, Skypark, swimming, riflery, and more. To participate in Riflery, campers have to be in Honeybadger and Coyote cohorts and up, giving our youngest campers space to explore other activities while older campers step into the responsibility the range requires.

A well deserved lunch was served of mini corndogs, sweet potato fries and watermelon. Everyone wanted seconds! During lunch we also got to see our first nature patch of 2026 awarded to one of our campers as they were able to show knowledge and identify the invasive plant species around the nature treehouse. Such a great achievement!

The afternoon brought another three periods of fun activities such as archery, pickleball and the mountain slide. Trying something new like the mountain slide can feel intimidating for some of our new junior campers, but encouraging that collective sense of resilience allows our campers to thrive and take a jump in the deep end.

After some mac and cheese, popcorn chicken, corn and bread rolls – campers head out onto the ballfield for tonight’s evening program – ‘rainbow tag!’ Rainbow Tag is an interactive game where our campers buddy up with a friend and attempt to receive all the colours of the rainbow painted on their arm. However – watch out for the ‘greenie meanies’ – they have wet sponges that could restart your entire rainbow!

An evening was concluded by heading back to their cabins for evening circles, and getting some earned rest after a busy day of excitement, ready to face tomorrow!
